1/25/2024 0 Comments Amd ryzen 9 3900x audio productionAnd I say this as someone who stuck with them through the Phenom II and Bulldozer era when their CPUs were far inferior. So no, for the first time -ever-, I will not be using AMD in my next build. Oh, and on top of all this, my 5950X doesn't even hit AMD's rated max turbo speed under single threaded workloads nor does it hit the same speeds that TomsHardware and other reviewers saw in their reviews. That's what I thought as well with the ASUS Crosshair VI Extreme, then AMD said NO RYZEN 5000 SERIES SUPPORT ON 300 SERIES MOTHERBOARDS!!!!!! for over a year and actively blocked AIBs from adding it, so I bought an X570S only for them to then stick up their middle fingers and change their mind, cost me an extra $370, on top of the $30 or so RMA shipping for my defective 1800X and $120 for another Windows 10 license because that replacement invalidated my existing license. AMD said the AM5 will be long lived so you only have to buy that board ONCE. I wouldn't take it, not even if it were the MSI GODLIKE insanity and came with a free 7900X.Īlso unlike intel, where you have to sink a new motherboard every 1-2 gens. In the Cinebench R20 tests, our Ryzen 9 3950X was bested only by AMD’s 32-core Threadripper 2990WX and an overclocked 18-core Core i9-9980XE in the multi-threaded test. After talking with my brother inlaw and a good friend they convinced me that going with AMD would be more bang for my buck.Bikki said:I belive any AMD exec who reads your story will give you a 圆70 for free as an apology. Tonight i decided it was time to upgrade my older i5 computer that i built in 2012. Truly wish Universal Audio would work to fix some of the issues with their products. Tried researching that with zero luck in finding an answer for that question as well. So now I am second guessing if this setup will even work? If it does not can i install the inateck pci-e kt4005 into this motherboard? I checked the specs on ROG strix B450-i that is in your signature and from digging more i was able to find it also uses AMD chipset for their USB drivers. When finding the list of problematic USB chipsets AMD was also on the list. So i once again went digging to determine if this would be a re/occuring issue i would once again have the pleasure of experiencing. I made the purchase and several hours later remembered the USB 3 issues i had with my current setup that required me to buy the inateck pci-e card kt4005 as my apollo twin did not play well with the installed usb 3.0 chipset in my motherboard. After talking with my brother inlaw and a good friend they convinced me that going with AMD would be more bang for my buck.įor the mother board i went with the B450 Aorus Pro wifi and for my processor i went with the AMD Ry8 core at 3.2Ghz. So yeah, I would love to know if there is a way to get the Apollo Twin USB to work on a Ryzen based machine! And any news on a Ryzen motherboard with Thunderbolt 3 I would love to hear too! You can wake me up in the middle of the night for that information!Ĭlick to expand.Tonight i decided it was time to upgrade my older i5 computer that i built in 2012. And even though I'm willing to upgrade to an Apollo Rack interface, it's going to need Thunderbolt and this is also not available on the Ryzen platform (besides one or two Ryzen laptops which are too expensive for me). But if I can't use my Apollo Twin USB, it's not an option for me. Comparatively, you can pick up an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, that’s still going to perform exceptionally well, for close to 500. Buying a super expensive CPU like an AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X will deliver amazing results, but it costs almost 4,000. I mean, I now have to pay €495 for a 6core/12 thread Intel cpu, while I can get a Ryzen 2700X 8 core/16 thread for €312. When it comes to choosing a CPU, you need to weigh performance against cost. Count me in as someone who would love to know the answer to your question too! I've been planning a computer update for a while now, but hate to see that I need to go with an Intel based machine, now that the prices for the Intel CPU's have been going up rapidly in just a month, some more than 50%! This makes the Ryzen cpu much more interesting. AMD’s Ryzen 9 3900X is a 12-core 24-thread processor with a 3.6 GHz base clock and the ability to turbo (AMD calls it Precision Boost 2) up to 4.6 GHz, while slotting into a 105W TDP.
